This year’s 6th International Conference on Biocatalysis in Non-Conventional Media (BNCM 2021, 6th-8th of May 2021 ) is a meeting at the forefront of innovation as well as a source of inspiration toward “non-conventional environments” in biocatalysis. Thanks to the participation of industrial and academic experts, BNCM2021 provided a unique opportunity to share experiences and interests, and to improve our knowledge in this area of research through multidisciplinary contributions.

BNCM was divided in four sessions: I – Biocatalysis in Non-Conventinal Media; II – BNCM: From Lab to Industrial Scale; III – Multiphase Biocatalytic Systems; and IV- Flow-Based Bioprocesses. In each of these sessions INTERfaces was strongly represented by talks by our PIs Selin Kara (Aarhus University, Denmark), Lucia Gardossi (Università degli Studi di Trieste, Italy), Fernando López-Gallego (CIC biomaGUNE, Spain), Bernd Nidetzky (Graz University of Technology, Austria) (being 4 out of five invited speakers) and Robert Kourist (Graz University of Technology, Austria), by posters of our ESRs Iulia-Ioana Rădoi (ESR4, Università degli Studi di Trieste, Italy), Chiara Danielli (ESR11, ViaZym, The Netherlands) and Milica Milić (ESR14, Aarhus University, Denmark) and short presentation our PI Emil Byström (SpinChem, Sweden). We will hopefully soon present you their posters in our news section (https://www.h2020interfaces.eu/news/). Furthermore, INTERfaces, our beneficiary SpinChem and our partner Purolite were sponsors for this conference.
