Newest Publication with contribution by Kamela Myrtollari

Congratulations to Kamela Myrtollari, Andreas Taden and Robert Kourist for their joint contribution to a new publication in which it is discuss how a biosynthesis route for the polymer precursor tulipalin A starting from isoprenyl acetate is proposed. “The alkane monooxygenase AlkB catalyzes the chemoselective terminal hydroxylation of isoprenyl acetate. Rational enzyme engineering further increased the activity of the membrane enzyme. An alcohol and aldehyde dehydrogenase pair enabled complete oxidation to the carboxylic acid, thus paving the way to biotechnological tulipalin A production.” An interesting read so check it out
