Hosting Company: SpinChem AB
SpinChem AB is a privately owned limited company with an international Board of Directors from both the financial and scientific sectors of industry and academia. Since 2010 the development of rotating bed reactors have been the focus, and several products are now on the market in different scales from lab screening to pilot plants and full scale multi-ton processing of liquids.

Researchers associated with INTERfaces
Dr. Emil Byström, CEO, (m) In 2010 Dr. Byström got his PhD with the thesis “Porous Polymeric Materials for Chromatography”. He then started his own consultant company before he joined SpinChem. Dr. Byström’s area of expertise is the development and characterization of porous materials together with reactor technologies.

Dr. Christopher Öberg, Senior Scientist, (m) completed his PhD in 2008 with the thesis ”Small-Molecule Galectin Inhibitors – On Tweezers and Talosides” at Lund University, Sweden. After working as a postdoc at Umeå University, he was employed as a senior research scientist at Chemical Biology Consortium Sweden. In August 2015 Dr. Öberg joined SpinChem, taking on the roll as senior application scientist. ESR13 and ESR14 will be supervised by Dr. E. Byström and Dr. C. Öberg during their 18 months of secondments.

Key Research Facilities, Infrastructure and Equipment
The company is located at Uminova Science Park in Umeå, Sweden. Among other techniques, HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, reactors up to 780L, full lab for organic synthesis, scale up and scale out systems are available. Full software licenses for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of prototypes, processes and product development. Different tools for rapid prototyping of models and products, both 3D-printers, ultrasonic welding apparatus and access to workshops with all types of machining capabilities. The company also is in possession of additional industrial premises for large-scale application tests up to liquid volumes of 7.5 cubic meters. Several different reactor technologies in different sizes from 100, 500, 600, 800, 1000 and 7500 L are available. Tools, equipment and necessary skills for modification of tanks to fit the purpose is also available in those premises.
